Amazon founder Bezos sold over 3.3 million more shares of the company

Jeff Bezos, founder of American tech giant Amazon, sold over 3.3 million more shares of the company for about $736.7 million, according to CNBC.

This sale is part of a previously agreed plan approved by Bezos in March. Under the plan, he plans to sell up to 25 million Amazon shares by May 29, 2026.

It is noted that Bezos, who stepped down as Amazon’s CEO in 2021 but remains chairman of the board, has regularly sold shares in the company over the past few years. However, he remains its largest individual shareholder.

In February 2024, he approved a similar plan, under which he sold up to 50 million Amazon shares by the end of January this year.

Bezos himself has previously stated that he plans to sell approximately $1 billion worth of Amazon shares each year to finance his space company, Blue Origin.

He also donated shares to Day 1 Academies, his non-profit organization that is building a network of Montessori-style preschools in several states.
