The day before, the 39th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony occurred in Cleveland, where the legendary Cher was honored.
The 78-year-old star rocked the stage with her hits Believe (in a duet with Dua Lipa) and I Could Turn Back Time. Cher shared with the audience that Cinderella inspired her and thanked her mother for teaching her not to give up despite defeats.
Singer Dua Lipa and actress Zendaya were the event’s most prominent celebrity guests and hosts. The movie star appeared at the ceremony in a unique look — she repeated Cher’s 1972 Bob Mackie look. The actress’s golden “naked” dress became a kind of dressing up for Cher’s iconic appearance.
The Hall of Fame also inducted these pieces: Mary J. Blige, A Tribe Called Quest, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, the late Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Alexis Corner, John Mayall, Norman Whitfield, and Big Mama Thornton.
