Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that 2026 could be his last year as a professional footballer. The 41-year-old Portugal captain has said he already has a clear idea of what he will do after his playing days.
Ronaldo has previously said on several occasions that he is nearing the end of his career, but has given less specific dates – “soon” or “one or two years”. The Portuguese, who has scored over 950 goals for club and country, also said that he has already planned the next stage of his life. Among the activities that Ronaldo wants to devote more time to, he mentioned traveling and padel. The footballer also said that after his career ends, he plans to enjoy the results of his many years of work more.
It is worth noting that a few days before the interview was published, the footballer married his long-term partner, Georgina Rodriguez. The chamber ceremony took place in the Portuguese resort town of Cascais.
