On January 4, in Santa Monica, California, the 31st annual Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony took place. It is awarded by the Television Critics Association for achievements in cinema. This is reported by Variety.
The best film was recognized as “One Battle After Another”, in which Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn played the main roles. The film also received two other major awards in the categories “Best Director” and “Best Adapted Screenplay”.
Horror films “Frankenstein,” directed by Guillermo del Toro, and “Sinners,” directed by Ryan Coogler, shared four leading awards. In particular, the first film received awards in the categories “Best Supporting Actor” (for Jacob Elordi as the Creature) and “Best Production Design,” as well as for hair, makeup, and costumes.
“The Sinners” won for original screenplay, cast, and soundtrack. By the way, 20-year-old Miles Keaton, who starred in the film, was recognized as the best young actor.
