General Motors (GM) and NVIDIA have announced a collaboration to use artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to create next-generation vehicles, manufacturing processes, and robotics.
The partnership involves developing specialized AI systems based on NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platforms. In addition, General Motors plans to equip its vehicles with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform on the Blackwell architecture.
“GM has a long history of working with NVIDIA, using its GPUs in its operations,” said Mary Barra, chairman and CEO of General Motors.
“Artificial intelligence enables us to optimize production processes and accelerate virtual testing and helps us build smarter cars, enabling our employees to focus on more complex tasks. By combining advanced technology with human intelligence, we are opening up new horizons for innovation in the automotive industry and beyond.”
General Motors plans to use the NVIDIA Omniverse platform to create digital twins of its production lines. This will allow the company to conduct virtual testing and modeling of production processes, which will help reduce equipment downtime.
