The 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Comedian Nikki Glazer hosted the event for the second time in a row. In the film categories, the greatest success was achieved by the new film by Paul Thomas Anderson, while in the television categories, the main event of the evening was the series “Adolescence”.
The main award in the dramatic film category went to “Hamnet,” directed by Chloe Zhao. In the “Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical” category, the jury recognized the black comedy with thriller elements, “One Battle After Another,” by Paul Thomas Anderson.
Among the animated projects, the film “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” produced by Sony Pictures Animation, won. Then, the best foreign language film category was won by the Brazilian film “The Secret Agent” directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho.
Other key cinematic awards were:
- Wagner Moura – best actor in a drama for his role in the film “The Secret Agent”;
- Jesse Buckley – best actress in a drama for “Hamnet”;
- Timothée Chalamet – best actor in a comedy or musical for “Marty Supreme: The Genius of Combinations”;
- Rose Byrne – best actress in a comedy or musical for “I Am Not Iron”;
The best supporting actors were Teyana Taylor (“One Battle After Another”) and Stellan Skarsgård (“Sentimental Value”).

In the television nominations, the jury named “Pitt” by R. Scott Gemmill as the best drama series. The comedy or musical category was won by the series “Studio City.” At the same time, the title of best miniseries went to the project “Adolescence”.
The acting awards in the drama series went to Ree Seahorn for her role in the series “The One” and Noah Wiley, who played in “Petty”. In the comedy and musical projects, the jury recognized Gene Smart for “The Tricksters” and Seth Rogen for the series “Studio City”.
In the miniseries and television films, the awards for leading roles went to Michelle Williams for her work in the project “Dying for Sex” and Stephen Graham, who played in the series “Adolescence”. The same series awarded supporting roles to Erin Dougherty and Owen Cooper.
The jury also recognized cinematic achievements separately. Paul Thomas Anderson won two awards for his film “One Battle After Another” – for direction and screenplay. The award for box office achievements and overall contribution to film distribution was awarded to Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners”.
Music awards were also shared between several projects. The best original soundtrack was awarded to Ludwig Göransson’s work for the film “Sinners”, and the award for best song went to the composition Golden from the animated film “K-pop Demon Hunters”.
In the entertainment format section, the special award for stand-up special went to Ricky Gervais for his show “Mortality”, and the jury named Good Hang with Amy Poehler the best podcast of the year.
