The 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles, honoring the most outstanding films of 2024 and those who worked on them. The event was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, a traditional venue for the Golden Globes. Comedian Nikki Glaser hosted the event, becoming the first woman to host the award alone.

The absolute winner of the evening was the film Emilia Perez by French director Jacques Audiard, which won four awards, including two major ones: “Best Comedy Film/Musical and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana. The film tells the story of Rita, a lawyer who receives an unexpected offer: to help drug cartel leader Juan “Manitas” del Monte escape from the criminal world by implementing an incredible plan – to change sex and become a woman.

The Brutalist won in the Best Drama Film category. Adrian Brody, who plays the lead role in the film, received the award for Best Actor, and Brady Corbet – for Best Director.
There were also some high-profile victories: Demi Moore won the coveted statuette for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the movie Substance. This is the 62-year-old actress’s first Golden Globe.

The award for Best Screenplay went to The Conclave.
The title of Best Animated Feature was awarded to The Stream.
Several awards went to the Shogun series. It has won the hearts of critics and viewers with its epic story, “Game of Thrones,” in the world of Japanese samurai. The series is based on the events of the 17th century – the struggle for power after the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the “unifier of Japan.”

Shogun won in the following categories: Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series, Best Actress in a Drama Series, and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
