The HBO Max streaming service has started preparations for filming a series based on J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books. At this stage, the studio is looking for young actors to play the main roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Schoolchildren aged 9 to 11 in the UK and Ireland are invited to participate in the casting. The announcement also states that the selection is inclusive, meaning that children of all backgrounds and talents are welcome to apply.
All applicants need to send two videos. In the first one, they have to recite a short poem; in the second one, they must tell about themselves in one minute. Applications will be accepted until the end of October 2024. It will be recalled that the search for actors took seven months in 2000.
The series will be filmed in April 2025. Each show season will be based on one of the seven books about the famous wizard. It has yet to be announced who will direct and write the project.
