The organizers of the Golden Raspberry anti-award, which recognizes the most unsuccessful works in cinema annually, announced the nominees. Variety reports that Todd Phillips’ sequel to The Joker: Madness for Two was nominated in seven categories, including Worst Movie, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Remake, Prequel or Sequel.
At the same time, the lead actors – Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix – also fell under the critics’ “hand” and were nominated for the worst actress and the worst actor, respectively, and for the worst on-screen couple.
The Razzie Awards for Worst Film are also in the running for the anti-award for the most disastrous film: Madame Web, Megalopolis, Borderlands, and Reagan.
As for the worst actors, in addition to Gaga and Phoenix, the following will “fight” for the title of the worst Cate Blanchett (Boardwalk Empire), Bryce Dallas Howard (Argyle: Super Spy), Dakota Johnson (Madame Web), Jennifer Lopez (Atlas), Jack Black (Dear Santa), Zachary Levi (Harold and the Magic Crayon), Dennis Quaid (Reagan) and Jerry Seinfeld (Unfrosted).
The winners of the Golden Raspberry will be announced on March 1, the day before the Oscar ceremony.
