In the world of high fashion, Karl Lagerfeld takes center stage in the official trailer for the series about the renowned designer.
Hulu and Disney+ have unveiled the full trailer for “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld.” The series premieres its episodes on June 7 on both streaming services, as reported by Variety.
Comprising 6 episodes, the show delves into Lagerfeld’s rise in the high Parisian fashion world of the 1970s. It begins with the events of 1972, when the designer was crafting ready-to-wear pieces and was relatively unknown to the public.
However, everything changed when Lagerfeld fell in love with Jacques De Bascher. This man from high society inspired the main character to pursue his ultimate dream – to become the most famous French fashion designer. Lagerfeld worked as the chief designer and creative director for Chanel, Fendi, and his own brand.
Set in Paris, Monaco, and Rome, the series showcases the rivalry in the world of high fashion alongside epic parties. Episodes feature characters played by famous stars of the era, including Andy Warhol, Marlene Dietrich, and Paloma Picasso.
The project is based on the book “Kaiser Karl” by writer Raphael Bacqué. Directed by Jérôme Salle, the series stars Daniel Brühl in the lead role.
