The Queen Elizabeth II Design Award ceremony took place in London, where 29-year-old British designer Patrick McDowell was awarded this year. The event took place at 180 Studios and was organized by the British Fashion Council (BFC).
The award was presented by the Princess of Wales. The award annually recognizes young designers for their significant contribution to the development of the UK fashion industry, particularly in the field of sustainable development.

McDowell became the eighth winner of this award. Before him, Richard Quinn, Bethany Williams, Rosh Mahtani, Priya Ahluwalia, Saul Nash, Foday Dumbuya, and Stephen Stockey-Daley received the honorary award.
As part of the event, the princess also visited McDowell’s mobile studio to learn firsthand how his eco-friendly design projects are created.

In addition, she met with the winners and finalists of several other initiatives of the British Fashion Council Foundation, an organization that actively supports the development of the fashion industry through educational programs, grants, and business mentoring.
To attend the event, the Princess of Wales chose an elegant suit by designer Victoria Beckham.
