Former England captain David Beckham has been knighted for his services to football and service to British society. He will now be called as Sir David, and his wife will be Lady Victoria.
The legendary athlete has never hidden his monarchist views and has been an outspoken supporter of the royal family for many years.

Beckham said it was important for him to be recognised for his many years of charity work, not just his sporting achievements. In particular, he has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005 and supports numerous humanitarian projects.
David arrived at the ceremony at Windsor Castle wearing a Victoria Beckham suit. The charcoal-grey three-piece suit was the first piece in the brand’s menswear line, created by his wife, who was made an OBE in 2017 for services to fashion.
Beckham says he asked Victoria to create a special outfit for him, drawing inspiration from archival photographs of a young Charles III, whom the footballer calls “the most elegant man of his time.”
