Time magazine has named Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio its 2025 Entertainer of the Year.
The actor was named after the release of Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another,” in which he played a key role.
The magazine noted DiCaprio’s significant influence on cinema over a career spanning more than 30 years. The publication notes that the actor studied film classics as a young man, was inspired by James Dean’s acting, and later became one of Hollywood’s riskiest actors.

Time notes that DiCaprio, who has been nominated for an Oscar seven times, is known for his ability to make “unobvious but right” role choices. His new role as Bob Ferguson, a single father in Anderson’s bizarre comedy-drama, has already contributed to the film’s box-office success, which has grossed more than $200 million.
On December 8, DiCaprio’s film “One Battle After Another” became the leader in nominations at the Golden Globe Awards, with nine nominations, including “Best Director” and “Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).”
