Sony has unveiled limited edition versions of the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro gaming consoles to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand. As expected, the PlayStation 5 Pro — 30th Anniversary Limited Edition BundIe was sold out in seconds. At the same time, there were ads on eBay with inflated prices ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 pounds ($5,350 – $13,350), as reported by IGN.
Initially, the limited edition PlayStation 5 Pro was available for pre-order via PlayStation Direct in the UK and the Eurozone for £959.99 / €1,099.99.
The consoles are available in the famous gray color used for the original PlayStation. A total of 12,300 limited edition consoles in retro colors are available worldwide. Each limited edition PS5 Pro console has an individual number.
At the same time, eBay began adding ads warning potential buyers against resale offers.
The anniversary PS5 Slim, which was also quickly sold out on Sony’s website, cost $500, but buyers are now asking for $1,500 or more.
