OpenAI is working on a new model — GPT-6. The CEO of the startup, Sam Altman, announced this in a conversation with journalists.

The entrepreneur did not name a release date, but made it clear that the neural network “will be different” and will appear faster than GPT-5 after GPT-4. The model will not just respond to users, but will adapt to them and will allow you to create chatbots taking into account individual preferences.

Altman considers memory to be a key element in turning ChatGPT into a personal tool. The assistant needs to understand who exactly is using it, as well as the person’s preferences, habits, and characteristics. This will allow the system to adapt to each user.

OpenAI is working closely with psychologists to create the product.

However, the presence of memory causes privacy problems, the entrepreneur noted. They are exacerbated by the fact that the temporary storage of information is not encrypted, which can expose personal data. Altman suggested using encryption in the future, but did not specify the timing.
