ChatGPT developer OpenAI roughly doubled its revenue in the first seven months of 2025, reaching $12 billion in annual revenue, according to The Information.
According to the publication, the company has about 700 million active users per week for its ChatGPT products.
As Reuters notes, these figures mean that OpenAI generates $1 billion per month.
For comparison, in March, the company reported 500 million active users of all its products.
Currently, the Microsoft-backed company is actively attracting investors for a second tranche of $30 billion in funding. Among the investors are reportedly such big players as Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global Management, which are investing hundreds of millions of dollars.
OpenAI is expected to release its latest and most advanced artificial intelligence model, GPT-5, in early August. The release of ChatGPT in late 2022 largely kicked off the current AI arms race, becoming one of the fastest-growing applications of all time.
