OpenAI to launch the latest AI model, Orion

OpenAI is one step away from launching a new AI model called Orion. The Verge reports that the developers plan to use the product internally and among partners in December 2024.

According to available information, the creators of ChatGPT intend to gradually deploy a large language model (LLM) this time. In the initial stages, Orion will be used by OpenAI employees and companies that have signed a cooperation agreement.

Engineers from Microsoft, a significant investor in the startup, will be among the first to see the new AI model. The deployment on the Azure cloud platform should start in November 2024. At the same time, the company itself allegedly still does not know what the new LLM will be called, according to media reports. Orion is only a designation of the project at the stage of its implementation.

OpenAI developer Sean Ralston previously stated that the new AI model would potentially outperform GPT-4 by 100 times.
