American designer Ralph Lauren unveiled his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, setting the tone for the new season of fashion shows in New York. The presentation took place on September 9 in Manhattan, ahead of the official opening of New York Fashion Week.
The show attracted particular attention not only because of the status of the iconic American brand, but also because of the new rules introduced for this season’s official fashion week schedule. Beginning with the September 2026 season, the use of animal fur is no longer permitted at events included in the official New York Fashion Week schedule. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced the policy in late 2025.
A New Interpretation of Ralph Lauren’s Signature Aesthetic
The collection reflected Ralph Lauren’s distinctive balance between traditional American style and a contemporary interpretation of classic silhouettes. The color palette centered on navy and white, complemented by golden, beige, and soft dusty-pink tones.
For womenswear, the designer explored the interplay between masculine and feminine elements. The runway featured tailored trousers, structured jackets, shirts, leather jackets, and voluminous pants, alongside more romantic designs, including floor-length dresses, corset-inspired details, draping, and sophisticated evening silhouettes.
Among the collection’s standout details were feather-adorned denim jackets, sharply tailored white suits, wide-leg trousers, and elegant gowns designed with formal occasions and red-carpet appearances in mind. These elements emphasized the contrast between the precision of classic tailoring and the softness of romantic styling.
Lauren described the new collection as an irreverent take on romance, presenting a contemporary vision of elegance while allowing his signature aesthetic to feel more relaxed and modern.

As always, the Ralph Lauren show attracted a distinguished group of guests from the worlds of film, fashion, and entertainment. Among those in attendance were Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Elizabeth Debicki, Ariana DeBose, and other prominent figures. Ricky Lauren, the designer’s wife and longtime muse, was also seated in the front row.
The spotlight was also firmly on Ralph Lauren himself. At 86, the designer made a brief appearance at the end of the show, receiving applause from the audience. His presence served as a reminder of the enduring influence he has had on American fashion throughout his decades-long career.
