According to The Numbers, Scarlett Johansson has become the highest-grossing actress in film history, surpassing Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson. These results were achieved thanks to the successful launch of the new installment of the Jurassic World franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion, which grossed $318 million in its first six days in theaters.
In the film, Scarlett Johansson plays Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert and former military officer who travels with a team to one of the few islands where dinosaurs reign supreme.
Despite this achievement, Johansson’s acting in the film did not receive high marks in reviews by specialized publications; moreover, the project was described as “a good movie when the characters are silent.”
In total, the films in which she has starred have grossed $14.8 billion at the global box office, most of which was earned by the actress in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and her role as Black Widow – $8.7 billion.
This is not the first time Scarlett Johansson has topped the rankings. In 2018 and 2019, she was already the highest-paid actress of the year, according to Forbes.
