Rapper Snoop Dogg has taken on a role in the dramatic boxing film “The Faith of Long Beach,” directed by Eric Amadio, known for his work on the series “Snowfall.” The film will also feature Brandon Perea, known for his role in “Nope.” The narrative unfolds around a Long Beach street fighter who overcomes past challenges to build a career in professional boxing. According to the director, this project combines a sports drama with a story of personal growth, particularly emphasizing faith in oneself and the support of a community. Although Snoop Dogg’s specific role in the film remains undisclosed, the artist himself noted that the movie possesses “soul,” as it delves into themes of heart, perseverance, struggle, and redemption in the context of Long Beach.
Moreover, last month, he presented a biographical film about himself by Universal Pictures at the CinemaCon event; filming will commence shortly in Los Angeles, directed by Craig Brewer, with Jonathan Daviss set to portray the main role. Snoop Dogg has extensive acting experience, having appeared in projects like “Day Shift,” “Dolemite Is My Name,” “Starsky & Hutch,” “Soul Plane,” and the series “Black Mafia Family.” In addition to his acting work, he is set to star in and produce the film “God of the Rodeo,” to be directed by Rosalind Ross alongside producers Sarah Ramaker, Giannina Scott, and Ridley Scott.
