The fourth season of the series “Ted Lasso” had the most successful premiere in Apple TV’s history. On August 4-5, the first episode of the new season collected 296.6 million viewing minutes.
The premiere of the fourth season surpassed the results of all previous seasons of “Ted Lasso” and other popular Apple TV projects, including “The Gap” and “Pluribus”.
Only on August 5 did “Ted Lasso” become the most popular streaming program in the USA. During that day, viewers watched more than 200 million minutes of the series.
The indicator of the approximate number of views, which streaming services use to compare programs of different durations, was high. The premiere episode of the fourth season received about 7.1 million views. This figure was obtained by dividing the total viewing time of the series by its duration (42 minutes).
The events of the new season unfold three years after the third. Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, returns to Richmond, where he takes on a new team.
In the official description of the season, it is called “his biggest challenge” – Ted has to coach a women’s soccer team in the second division.
Along with Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Gantt, and Jeremy Swift return to their roles.
Also joining the cast for season four are Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Gaze, Ashling Sharkey, Abby Hearn, and Grant Feeley.
“Ted Lasso” was created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly, and Brendan Gantt, based on the character that originally appeared in an NBC Sports promotional campaign.
