The statuette in this category will be awarded to participants starting with the 100th Oscar ceremony. Its nominees will be films released in 2027.
“Stunts have been an integral part of filmmaking since the earliest days of cinema. We are proud to recognize the work of these technical and creative artists and congratulate them for their dedication,” said the Academy’s CEO, Bill Kramer, and President, Janet Young.
It is known that more than a hundred stunt specialists are members of the Production and Technology Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
