The American Film Academy has named the host of the 2026 Oscars

Comedian and TV show host Conan O’Brien will host the Oscars for the second time in a row in 2026, according to Reuters, citing the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the United States.

According to ABC, this year’s broadcast of the event attracted 19.7 million viewers, a record for Hollywood’s highest awards over the past five years.

“The only reason I’m hosting the Oscars next year is to hear Adrian Brody finish his speech,” Conan O’Brien jokingly commented.

He recalled a long speech by the actor Brody, who received the prestigious statuette as the best actor in early March for his role in the movie The Brutalist. O’Brien is best known in the United States as the host of Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, and Conan.

The 98th Academy Awards will be held on March 15, 2026. For the third year in a row, Emmy Award winners and live broadcast producers Raj Kapoor and Katie Mullan will serve as executive producers of the ceremony.
