The film "Formula 1" became Brad Pitt's highest-grossing project

The sports drama “Formula 1” starring Brad Pitt, which is claiming the title of this summer’s biggest blockbuster, has set a new record in the actor’s career. The film was a box office triumph for Pitt, grossing $545.6 million at the box office.

According to Deadline, thanks to Formula 1, 61-year-old Pitt received the highest box office gross of his entire acting career. What’s more, the film was a real breakthrough for Apple TV+, surpassing even such high-profile premieres as Ridley Scott’s Napoleon ($221 million) and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon ($158 million).

The release of Formula 1 was promising from the very start — in its first weekend in the US alone, the film grossed over $55 million, and internationally, it grossed nearly $88 million. Thus, the sports drama’s box office earnings exceeded the actor’s previous most successful project, the 2013 film World War Z, which grossed $540 million.
