The California State University (CSU) has provided more than 460,000 students and 63,000 staff and faculty members access to ChatGPT’s educational version. This is the largest implementation of ChatGPT by any single organization in the world.

The California State University system will become the first AI-powered university system in the United States and deploy ChatGPT across 23 campuses.
This means that students will now be able to integrate artificial intelligence into their studies, and professors will be able to use it to optimize administrative tasks, freeing up more time for teaching and research.
With ChatGPT’s help, teachers will develop a curriculum and personalize subjects and textbooks. Meanwhile, the university will introduce a special platform offering free training programs and certifications for all students, faculty, and staff to learn how to use artificial intelligence tools.
Universities worldwide, including Harvard and Oxford, are actively integrating AI into their activities, and CSU is the first to extend this practice to the entire education system.
OpenAI stated that they “strive to democratize” knowledge through ChatGPT Edu in this way.
