US President Donald Trump’s birthday is a national holiday that his party members want to make. Representative Claudia Tenney (R-New York) has introduced a bill. So far, only George Washington has been honored with such an honor. The Hill reports.
The Trump Birthday and Flag Day Act proposes recognizing both Trump’s birthday and Flag Day, celebrated on June 14, as federal public holidays.
George Washington was born on February 22, but Presidents’ Day, which is celebrated in honor of his birthday, is usually celebrated on the third Monday in February.
In another publication, Tenney stated that “no modern president has been more important to our country than Donald J. Trump.”
“I have introduced legislation to declare Trump’s birthday and Flag Day federal holidays, ensuring that President Trump’s contributions to American greatness are forever enshrined in law,” she added.
Last month, Congressman Addison McDowell (R-North Carolina) introduced legislation to rename Washington Dulles International Airport in Trump’s honor.
