World Boxing lifts all sanctions on Russian boxers and allows them to compete

World Boxing, the main governing body of amateur boxing, has allowed Russian athletes to compete without restrictions. At the same time, representatives of the organization emphasized that Russian delegations will be under increased control. The organization said that it would strictly monitor their behavior during tournaments, as well as compliance with anti-doping protocols.

World Boxing was created in 2023 after the International Boxing Association (IBA), under the leadership of Umar Kremlev, finally lost recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to corruption scandals, management problems, and financial issues. World Boxing received recognition from the IOC and will organize boxing competitions at the 2028 Olympics.
