We spoke with Yuliia about the origins of her studio, the essence of her unique approach, and her vision for the future of architecture and design.
— Yuliia, tell us how the idea for Milano Design Architects was born and how you developed it into an international studio with projects across Europe and Asia?
The idea came quite naturally. Our first projects were for friends and close contacts who would say, “You have excellent taste — we completely trust you.” My professional journey began in Italy, where I gained my first serious experience in interior design. Milan, as the capital of fashion and design, had a profound influence on me — it shaped my vision and approach. The name Milano Design Architects came naturally as a tribute to the city that embodies beauty, style, and professionalism for me. Over time, our studio expanded, and our project geography now spans across Europe and Asia. Today, with offices in Milan, Kyiv, and Tashkent, our coordinated team efforts allow us to successfully execute even the most complex international projects.

— Your studio works on A-class offices, boutique hotels, luxury residences and villas. What challenges do you face when working on such large-scale and diverse projects?
Our clients are individuals who have achieved great success in business and life, so our projects must meet the highest standards. They have seen the best the world has to offer and expect a level of excellence in both service and result. We treat each project as a bespoke piece — like a tailored suit from a prestigious atelier — crafted to reflect the client’s personality, traditions, modern technologies, and refined aesthetics. Such ambitious projects are only possible thanks to the seamless collaboration of a professional team. Architects, designers, engineers, visualizers, lighting specialists — each plays a key role, fully immersed in the process. Strong structure and international coordination enable us to deliver excellence at every stage.

— What is the philosophy behind Milano Design Architects? What values guide your work?
Our philosophy is based on deep respect for the client and their individuality. We believe that architecture is not only about form, but about emotion — the atmosphere a space creates. Our mission is not merely to deliver a technical solution but to create an environment that inspires, brings comfort, and becomes an integral part of our client’s life. Professional responsibility, attention to detail, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence lie at the heart of our approach. But our most important asset is the team: talented, experienced professionals united by a shared vision.
— You’ve personally visited top Italian manufacturers and regularly attend international design exhibitions. How does that influence your team’s approach?
Over the years, we’ve visited more than a hundred factories in Italy and across Europe. This has given us a profound understanding of the difference between authentic manufacturers and companies that merely trade on a strong brand without having their own production. This experience allows us to choose reliable partners who meet our quality standards.
Participating in international design exhibitions keeps us ahead of the curve — we stay current with new trends, materials, and technologies, and apply this knowledge in our projects. We always strive to work with the best and to bring the best into every design we create.
— What is your vision for the design of the future? What trends, materials or technologies do you find especially relevant today?
Design of the future is all about people and their comfort. Today we see a strong trend towards “quiet luxury”: noble tones, natural materials, harmonious proportions, and subtle accents. It’s not about status symbolism — it’s about true elegance. Technology plays a huge role as well: smart systems, sustainable materials, and home automation are becoming standard. Our studio actively implements these innovations while maintaining a balance between cutting-edge functionality and soulful, human-centered spaces.
— What challenges do you face as the head of an international company, and how do you overcome them?
One of the most obvious challenges is managing across time zones. Sometimes the time difference between offices is up to five hours, which requires precise coordination. My workday can stretch well beyond 12 hours, but clear internal communication, strong planning, and discipline allow us to function effectively in any circumstance. Behind every successful project is a well-coordinated team — that’s our core strength.

— What advice would you give to someone just starting a design or architecture studio?
Start by asking yourself honest questions: “Why am I doing this? Who am I doing it for? What real value can I offer?” Clarity of purpose gives you strength and focus. Then, build a team of like-minded individuals — because great projects are born from trust, respect, and shared inspiration. And, of course, be prepared for continuous growth, learning, and dedication to results.
— And finally, what are your goals for the future of Milano Design Architects?
In the coming years, we aim to successfully complete our current projects and see the joy in our clients’ eyes — that’s the greatest reward. But we also have far more ambitious goals: to create architectural works that become a legacy. Projects that our children and grandchildren can be proud of. Our team consists of strong professionals and mature individuals who are united in the mission to leave a meaningful mark on the world.
