A proposal to impeach Trump has been submitted to Congress

Trump's Birthday: Republicans Want to Make a New Holiday in the US

House of Representatives member Sri Tanedar (Michigan) has proposed impeaching US President Donald Trump.

He announced this on the social network X.

“I have introduced articles to impeach President Trump. When Trump ignores the Constitution, Congress, and the courts, he is not fighting for America. He is destroying it and jeopardizing our democracy,” the congressman wrote.

Thanedar submitted a proposal for impeachment on seven articles:

  • Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Executive Power;
  • Usurpation of Appropriations Powers;
  • Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression;
  • Violation of First Amendment Rights;
  • Creation of an Unlawful Agency;
  • Bribery and Corruption;
  • Tyrannical Overreach of Power.

According to Axios, this year marks the first time the US president or a member of his administration has been impeached. At the same time, journalists are convinced that these measures will fail, especially given that the Republicans control the House of Representatives and the Senate.

House member Al Green (Texas), who was criticized last month for disrupting Trump’s speech at a joint session of Congress, said he also plans to prepare articles of impeachment.

Another member of the House of Representatives, Ilhan Omar (Minnesota), also privately proposed impeaching Defense Secretary Pete Hagel, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in connection with Signalgate.
