Hollywood actor Denzel Washington, who starred in The Righteous and Gladiator 2, has begun a new stage in his life — he has become a priest.
The 69-year-old winner of two Oscars was baptized and licensed as a clergyman. Now, Page Six reports that the actor can perform marriage ceremonies and other rituals that are within the competence of the clergy.
The ceremony occurred at the Kelly Temple Church of God in New York in Christ. It is also reported that his wife Pauletta Washington, with whom Denzel has been married for over 40 years and has four children together (40-year-old John, 37-year-old Kathy, and 33-year-old twins Olivia and Malcolm), came to support the actor.
