Adele to make her film debut

"It was worse than giving birth," Adele admits she partially lost her hearing

British singer Adele, who announced a break from her music career last November, is preparing for her film debut. The actress will star in Tom Ford’s new film Cry to Heaven, an adaptation of the 1982 novel of the same name by Anne Rice, author of the cult “Interview with the Vampire.” Deadline reports.

Adele’s partners on set will be Hunter Schafer, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Colin Firth, Owen Cooper, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton, George McKay, and Mark Strong.

The film is set in 18th-century Italy. The plot centers on two young men: 15-year-old Venetian aristocrat Tonio Treschi and Calabrian peasant Guido Maffeo. Both strive to achieve success in the world of opera.

The film is scheduled for release in the fall of 2026.

Tom Ford has taken full creative control over the project: he is directing and producing the film through his own company, Fade To Black, as well as writing the script and co-financing the production.
