Italian singer Andrea Bocelli will perform at the Opening Ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, which will take place on February 6 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.
For Bocelli, this performance will be a return to the Olympic stage, 20 years after he performed in the Closing Ceremony of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics, where he sang “Because We Believe”.
During the Opening Ceremony in Milan and Cortina, Bocelli will be one of the main participants in the program dedicated to the theme of harmony and unity. The singer is known for the compositions “Time to Say Goodbye”, “The Prayer”, and “Because We Believe”, which have repeatedly been heard at large-scale international events.
Throughout his career, Andrea Bocelli has regularly participated in major sporting events. In particular, he performed at the 2016 UEFA Champions League Final in Milan. He performed “Nessun Dorma” at the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony.
Bocelli also sang the Italian anthem at the inaugural Formula 1 Tuscan Grand Prix, performed at the opening ceremony of the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, and participated in events related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
