Apple introduced the iOS 26 operating system with a new liquid Glass design

Largest screen, new colors, and AI: Apple presented new products

Apple has announced the iOS 26 operating system with a completely new liquid Glass design, reports The Verge. Apple presented these new products at the World Developer Conference (WWDC).

The following operating systems of Apple devices identify turbidity by year of release, not by version number. The current iOS 18 will immediately give way to iOS 26, not iOS 19. other updates will be iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26 and visionOS 26.

However, Apple will use next year’s titles, not the current ones, as car manufacturers do when promoting their cars. Therefore, they expect the new iOS to be released in the fall of 2025.

Apple is making these changes to align its branding and avoid confusion for customers and developers. Current operating systems such as iOS 18, watchOS 12, Mac OS 15, and visionOS 2 have different numbers because their first versions didn’t debut simultaneously.

Apple will also introduce a new unified design after the last major update of iOS 7 (in 2013). It will be based on new textures, which are called “Liquid Glass.” Textures will be added inside apps and on icons on the lock screen.

Another new feature is the Live Translation feature, which Apple Intelligence supports. It allows you to translate conversations in real-time in text format and during calls or FaceTime conversations.
