Apple plans to produce over 15 billion chips under a deal with Broadcom

Apple to present iPhone 16 line on September 9

The American company Apple has announced an expansion of its cooperation with Broadcom, one of the world’s leading chip manufacturers, under a multi-year agreement worth over $30 billion.

The agreement, announced by Apple on July 8, will produce over 15 billion chips and expand Broadcom’s manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, by $1.5 billion.

At the same time, Apple did not disclose the timing of commissioning the new Broadcom plant.

It is noted that Broadcom has long supplied Apple with communications components. Still, the new agreement deepens this relationship by focusing on ordering silicon components made in the United States.

Apple said that Broadcom will produce wireless components that will help devices connect to cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth networks.
