Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and others: MTV VMA 2025 winners

The annual MTV Video Music Awards 2025 ceremony took place in New York the day before, traditionally bringing together the world’s biggest stars.

The main trophy of the evening — “Video of the Year” — went to Ariana Grande for her video Brighter Days Ahead. It was with this hit that the singer also won the nomination “Best Pop Performance”.

However, the absolute winner of the award was Lady Gaga. The artist took home four awards at once, including “Artist of the Year”, “Best Collaboration” for the duet Die With a Smile with Bruno Mars, as well as two awards for directing the video Abracadabra.

Sabrina Carpenter was also not left without attention: her album Short n’ Sweet was named “Album of the Year”, and the video for the track Manchild was awarded for best visual effects.

Other winners included: Rosé and Bruno Mars for Song of the Year (APT.), Katseye for Performance of the Year for Touch, Alex Warren for Best New Artist, Blackpink for Band of the Year, and Tate McRae for Song of the Summer (Just Keep Watching).

This year, there were also special honors for the legends of the scene. Mariah Carey received the Video Vanguard Award, Busta Rhymes became the first recipient of the Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin was honored as a Latin Icon.
