Joe Biden delivered his farewell speech as President of the United States. In it, he discussed his administration’s achievements and mentioned Ukraine.
The video was published by the White House.
Speaking in the Oval Office, Biden emphasized that he had strengthened NATO during his presidency in the United States.
“And abroad, we have strengthened NATO, Ukraine is still free, and we are ahead in our competition with China,” he said.
Among his other achievements, he mentioned lowering the price of medicines for the elderly, passing laws on safe gun control, and helping veterans receive medical care.
At the same time, Biden warned about the “formation of an oligarchy” in America, emphasizing the importance of ultra-wealthy citizens meeting the exact expectations of working and middle-class citizens. In particular, he mentioned the “dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few super-rich people.”
He also expressed concern about the spread of disinformation on social media. He emphasized that social platforms should be held accountable.
The US president also mentioned artificial intelligence, which “offers enormous opportunities but also enormous risks.” According to him, AI can create new threats to people’s rights, lifestyles, privacy, and security without appropriate safeguards.
Joe Biden has been President of the United States since January 2021. He ran in the 2024 election but eventually withdrew in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, who eventually lost to Republican Donald Trump.
