American singer and actor Chris Brown has filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Ample, demanding $500 million in compensation after the release of the documentary Chris Brown: A History of Violence.
In the film, the 35-year-old artist was called a “serial rapist and sexual abuser.” In response, the singer accused the producers of slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress with such statements. According to Brown, the movie is based on a false story, Variety reports.
The film was released in October 2024 and tells the story of a woman named Jane Doe, who was allegedly a victim of sexualized violence by Chris. The alleged victim claimed that Chris raped her during a party on a yacht off the coast of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Miami estate in December 2020.
Brown’s statement of claim states that the documentary is based on the victim’s complaint, which, according to the court document, was previously dismissed because it was “full of lies.”
