After finishing work on the film “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan plans to take a long break. According to the director, he will return to the next project no earlier than in three years.
Nolan spoke about this in an interview with the Today program. He explained that filming the historical epic was one of the most difficult of his career.
“I definitely reached the limit of my own endurance – and, I think, the endurance of the entire team. But this is “The Odyssey,” so it should be difficult. We wouldn’t have done our job properly, filming “The Odyssey,” if it didn’t seem so difficult,” the director said.
One of the production’s features was that the film was shot entirely on IMAX cameras. According to Nolan, this particular project became an opportunity to realize a long-standing idea.
The film “The Odyssey” is based on the ancient Greek poem of the same name by Homer. The film tells the story of Odysseus’s return home after winning the Trojan War.
