Co-Founder of e.l.f. Cosmetics Dedicates Himself to the Priesthood

Scott-Vincent Borba, the co-founder of the cosmetics company e.l.f. Cosmetics has allocated his assets to charity to begin his journey as a Catholic priest. Borba’s ordination is scheduled for May 23 in his hometown of Visalia, California, according to ABC7.

In 2004, Borba, together with Alan and Joseph Shamah, established the brand e.l.f. Cosmetics, which gained popularity for its affordable pricing and ethical products, achieved $100 million in sales by 2014. In 2019, Borba announced his decision to dedicate his life to the church, concurrently relinquishing the material assets amassed through his business ventures.

In an interview, Borba highlighted that his earlier life was focused on material prosperity; however, he turned towards religion after personal transformations beginning approximately three years ago. He spoke about his spiritual renewal, emphasizing that it led to a radical shift in his lifestyle and a new focus on religious service.

Currently, Borba serves as a deacon and seminarian at Saint Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, leading a minimalist lifestyle. He noted that since then, his life has undergone a drastic transformation towards spiritual growth and community service.
