According to the Daily Mail, former England captain David Beckham will be the guest editor of a special issue of Country Life magazine dedicated to its 50th anniversary. The issue will be published on October 22, 2025.
This year has been particularly eventful for the star athlete: earlier this month, he was on the list of guests of honor at the king’s birthday celebration and will soon receive a knighthood.
Beckham’s participation in creating the anniversary issue of Country Life continues a tradition started by members of the British monarchy. King Charles III edited the magazine twice — for his 65th birthday in 2013 and his 70th birthday in 2018.
In 2020, Elizabeth II prepared a special issue. In 2022, Queen Camilla joined the role of editor, dedicating it to her 75th birthday. Her issue set a record for circulation and sold out instantly.

According to Country Life editor-in-chief Mark Hedges, Beckham is a loyal reader of the publication:
“He reads the magazine from cover to cover. I am delighted that David has agreed to be guest editor, especially as it will be my 1,000th issue since I took the helm. I know he has a deep love for the countryside, which has become his passion since he retired from professional football,” Hedges said.
David’s fascination with rural life began in 2016 when he and Victoria Beckham purchased a luxurious estate in the Cotswolds for £12 million. Since then, their family has been spending more and more time surrounded by nature, enjoying the peaceful rhythm of life outside the metropolis.
