Disney Studios did not stand aside from the terrible tragedy in Los Angeles, where recent fires have destroyed more than 10,000 buildings, killed many people, and caused hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. Therefore, the company mobilized its efforts and announced that it would allocate $15 million to disaster relief, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
According to the report, these funds are intended for the American Red Cross, the Fire Department Foundation, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and other organizations.
“The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and employees as we work together to recover and rebuild from this incredible destruction. Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with only his boundless imagination, and this is where he chose to make his home, live out his dreams, and create the extraordinary stories that mean so much to so many people worldwide,” commented Bob Iger, CEO of the company.
Along with Disney, Paramount Global has also decided to help the victims by donating $1 million to several non-profit organizations, including the California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, and Best Friends Animal Society.
