On January 20, Donald Trump took the oath of office and became the 47th President of the United States. Chief Justice John Roberts led the ceremony. The Republican recited the traditional words of the oath while keeping his hand on the family Bible and the Abraham Lincoln Bible.
“I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” Trump said.
At the same time, James David Vance, who became Vice President of the United States in the new Trump administration, officially took the oath.
The inauguration ceremony of the US president-elect took place in the rotunda of the Capitol building – for the first time in 40 years, the event was not held in an open location.
Before that, the politician and his wife, Melania, arrived at the White House for a traditional tea party with President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill.

Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos with Lauren Sanchez, Elon Musk, Tim Cook, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, TikTok CEO Shou Chu, and others were among the guests of Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Traditionally, the new head of state delivers an inaugural speech outlining the “new administration’s main areas of work” and announcing the beginning of the “golden age of America.”
Thus, Trump said he would introduce a state of emergency on the southern border of the United States. In addition, he will send the military to the south of the country to stop the “invasion” of illegal migrants.
The new US president also announced that he would introduce a state of emergency in the energy sector and launch a national program to drill new fields. He also mentioned price increases and inflation and pledged to fight them.
Then, Trump promised to impose tariffs and rates on foreign countries instead of taxing his citizens. He also announced the creation of an external tax service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues. He says this should bring in “huge amounts of money from foreign sources.”
In addition, Trump said that the United States would end “state censorship” and promised to return freedom of speech to the country. At the same time, he announced that from now on, there are only two genders in America – male and female.
Meanwhile, Trumpcoin dropped by 40% and Bitcoin to $100,000 after the US president’s speech, in which he did not mention crypto.

After that, the US president signed his first decrees and appointments in a special room of Congress. Trump also submitted a list of members of his government to the Senate for approval. As previously announced, it is as follows:
- Pamela Bondi – Attorney General,
- Peter Hegseth – Secretary of Defense,
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as Secretary of Health and Human Services,
- Marco Rubio – Secretary of State,
- Tulsi Gabbard – Director of National Intelligence,
- John Ratcliffe – Director of the CIA,
- Alice Stefanik – Representative to the United Nations.
Donald Trump became the second American president to serve two terms in office, albeit with a break. By the end of his second term, he will be 82 years old, making him the oldest US president in history.
