The legendary American rapper Eminem, for the first time, frankly shared that he was the impetus for his recovery from drug addiction. In his new documentary, Stans, Eminem remembered how he lived in a deep depression until 2008 and abused prescription drugs until he overdosed and was sent to the hospital.
The turning point was the birthday of his daughter Galey Jade, who missed the rapper due to drugs.
The history of the musician’s struggle became part of his documentary picture of Stans, in which Eminem was a producer. The tape came out on August 7, but it’s only in cinemas for one weekend. The film combines candid and touching moments with comic episodes, focusing on the rapper’s career through the eyes of his most ardent fans.
The inspiration for the tape was the song “Stan” (2000), which tells the story of a fanatical supporter and became so cult that in 2017, the word “Stan” officially appeared in the Oxford Dictionary.

Since then, 17 years have passed, and the rapper remains sober. Nowadays, his daughter is 29, and recently she became a mother for the first time – the boy was named after Grandpa Eliot Marshall.
