Prince William has begun his first official visit to Brazil. The heir to the British throne arrived in Rio de Janeiro to attend the Earthshot Prize 2025 award ceremony, which he founded to support innovations in protecting the planet.
During the five-day visit, the prince stopped in Rio de Janeiro, where he managed to see the city’s main symbols – in particular, the statue of Christ the Redeemer, near which he recreated the legendary shots of his mother, Princess Diana. It was here, in April 1991, that Lady Di took one of her most famous photos during an official visit to Brazil.
After that, William attended the Earthshot Prize award ceremony in Rio. The event brought together world-class stars, including singer Kylie Minogue.
The award, launched by the prince in 2020, annually recognizes the best environmental initiatives aimed at restoring nature, cleaning up the oceans, combating climate change, and supporting sustainable development.
