Famed actor George Clooney has announced his intention to temporarily reduce his film work to devote more time to charitable projects. This announcement was made during the 51st Chaplin Award Gala in Lincoln Center, where he was honored for his significant contributions to cinema.
Clooney’s primary focus will be the work of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which he founded together with his wife, Amal Clooney. The organization is dedicated to defending human rights and assisting victims of violence and social injustice.
Furthermore, the actor plans to strengthen collaboration with the Roybal School of Film and Television Production. This educational initiative aims to broaden opportunities for underrepresented communities in the film industry.
At the same time, Clooney emphasized that he does not intend to retire entirely from his acting career and remains open to participating in select, meaningful projects that meet his standards of substance and quality.
It is worth noting that Clooney has made similar statements in the past. For instance, in 2017, he also announced plans to scale back his acting engagements. Still, he continued to act and work as a producer, focusing on strategic project selection.
