Producer Jerry Bruckheimer spoke about the work on the sixth part of “Pirates of the Caribbean”. According to him, the team is already working on the script. It is in talks with Johnny Depp about a possible return to the franchise.
At the same time, according to sources, the new film will not be just another story about Captain Jack Sparrow. The main character of the sequel may be Margot Robbie’s character, while Jack Sparrow will appear in a supporting role.
Thus, the sixth part may serve as a kind of restart of the franchise’s direction: the story will remain in the world of “Pirates of the Caribbean” but will focus on a new central heroine.
In total, the five Pirates of the Caribbean films have grossed about $4.5 billion worldwide.
