NASA has released new high-resolution images of the entire Earth for the first time in 54 years, taken from the Orion spacecraft, which is heading to the Moon with the Artemis II crew. The photo was taken by astronaut and mission commander Reed Wiseman.
The Artemis II mission is the first manned flight beyond low-Earth orbit since 1972. The Orion spacecraft is carrying four astronauts – three from the United States and one from Canada. The flight will last about 8–10 days and will include a lunar orbit without landing on its surface.
NASA also released a photo of Earth in the dark.
