Netflix is testing AI that will select content based on user mood

Netflix will select content according to the viewer's mood

Streaming platform Netflix is implementing artificial intelligence to help users choose content based on their mood. This is reported by Bloomberg.

Netflix plans to use artificial intelligence more actively to help users navigate the platform’s wide range of content. This was stated by the company’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, Elizabeth Stone, during the Bloomberg Tech conference in San Francisco.

According to her, generative AI should make the process of choosing movies and TV shows more personalized, interactive, and exciting. The company seeks to solve the problem of content overload, when users have a hard time deciding what to watch.

Netflix is already implementing generative AI and natural language processing technologies that analyze not only viewing history but also the user’s possible mood. Based on this, the platform will form more accurate recommendations.

The company is also testing a voice interface: the system will be able to analyze the user’s request and understand what content the person is tuned to.

Netflix emphasizes that personalized recommendations have long been one of the service’s key strengths, and the company plans to further develop these technologies.
