Opera has created a new browser that will take care of mental well-being

On February 4, Norwegian browser maker Opera launched a new browser called Opera Air. This browser will focus on users’ mental well-being, remind them to take a break and do breathing exercises, and include landscape sound and binaural beats to help them concentrate better, Techcrunch reported.

“What we want with Opera Air is to convey the concept of mindfulness through mindfulness tools and minimalist design,” said Opera’s Chief Product Officer Mohamed Salah.

All functions will be accessible from the side translucent panel. The “Take a Break” feature is displayed across three bars and works like a battery indicator. They will turn gray if you use the browser for an extended period. Users can set the time, after which the browser will remind them to take a break. This feature can also be turned off completely.

During the breaks, the browser offers various breathing exercises, neck stretching, meditation, or full-body scans. For neck exercises, you can turn on the camera so that the browser can guide your posture. Currently, “Opear Air” has only English voiceover exercises, but Opera is already working to add other languages.

Another mindfulness feature called Boosts already combines music, ambient sounds, and binaural beats. This will help improve focus by playing slightly different frequencies in each ear. Users can also change the music, ambient sound, binaural rhythm frequency, and volume of each track at any time.
