P.Diddy’s lawyers urge Netflix not to release documentary about rapper

Victims aged 9 to 38: 120 additional lawsuits filed against P Diddy

Ahead of the release of a documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs, produced by his longtime adversary 50 Cent, P. Diddy’s lawyers have urged Netflix not to release it.

According to media reports, in their appeal, the rapper’s lawyers claim that the film “Sean Combs: The Reckoning”contains “stolen footage that was never authorized for publication.”

The footage referred to by the lawyers is shown in the official trailer for the project, which was released on the morning of December 1.

The rapper’s representative, Jude Engelmayer, told CNN that Combs had been filming himself continuously for decades, trying to film his life for the documentary and added that the footage shown in the trailer was shot six days before Combs’ arrest in September 2024 and was part of that documentary project.

“Sean has been filming his own documentary since he was 19. This footage was commissioned as part of the film,” Engelmayer said.

Neither Combs nor his team had seen the Netflix documentary in advance.

Instead, Netflix assured that all the footage was legally obtained by the film crew. In their letter, the rapper’s lawyers threaten to take further legal action. His defense previously told CNN that it had approached the Trump administration about a possible amnesty.
